OLAP clients use data access components and PivotTable service. Usually they
install everything needed. For example with Excel you can simply connect to
Analysis Services using MS Query (Data menu - Import External Data - New
Database Query). If you are developing your own client, check the
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
site for data access components and
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...intro_4fhv.asp
for PivotTable service.

PTSLite.exe or PTSFull.exe can be found in the /msolap
folder in Service Pack 3a
You should only use the one from your according SP.

Dennis,
not that I know of. All you need is a client tool such as
excel and PivotTableServices. In Fact PTS comes with
Excel 2003, i think, but the version is outdated.

Then you are ready to go.
