I have a cube that I have been working on before and after installing MS SQL Server Patch 3, and a few security patches have been applied to both the server and my desktop. Before these installs, I could process the cube reasonably well. After the install, no matter what I do, the process hangs. I've noticed that when I'm processing the cubes, my CPU usage stays at 100%, consistently. If I leave and let it run over night, it will complete, but that's an unreasonable time frame. Some of the other messages that I have received are: Error(-2147221421):Internal error (Could not update the query log). (We think we may have resolved this one, as we noticed a posting that said MSAS Patch 3 sometimes removes authority of the OLAP_Administrators group to the data folder.) Error(-2147221423): Could not open server object. Cannot lock object 'Lazy processing token'. Error: Connection to the server is lost. And basically, we continue to see that right as the process is about to commit the changes, it loses the connection to the server. Does anyone have any insight as to what may be causing this? Some internal support people felt that the cube might be just "too large". I don't think so, however. I have about 20 dimensions, most have between 2-24 members, and there is one which has about 2,200 members. I did try to process the cube at one time with one dimension with 420,000 members, but have sinced removed it, rebuilt the cube, etc., etc., and can't get anything to process! (Incidentally, all of my dimensions have appropriate hierarchies--MSAS isn't trying to go immediately to ALL 420,000 members.) Jennifer Wofford |
