We found out that using a third party front-end application, drilling down to a specific data set is slow the first time. The second time any user drills down to the same data set, it is almost 75 % to 100% faster than the first user. The vendor stated that this is due to OLAP server caching. We would like to know as to how MS-OLAP controls server side caching, where does this cache get stored? Any pointers to such info would be very helpful. We process our cubes every night, is there any way to "add-on" to the existing cache instead of wiping it out alltogether? Thanks in advance. Jagannathan Santhanam |
