-----Original Message----- A dimension with 100,000 members is not a problem at all. You'll just need to create some intermediate levels for it or use the automatic grouping functionality. The limitation is that no single member can have more than 64,000 children. Hello, We have created a cube using Analysis Server 2000 and need to create a measure that calculates a distinct sum. As this is not one of the built in aggregate functions I am guessing that we will need to use MDX to calculate this. Has anyone else encountered this problem before? Having given it some consideration my initial thoughts would be to create a dimension containing a distinct list of fact items to use as the basis of the sum, however this would mean creating a dimension with over a hundred thousand members which I think is impossible (the documented maximum members per group is 64,000). Any ideas would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance, Simon. . |
