I'm working in a project for our Japan division and we would like to display
the dimension descriptions in Japanese (Kanji).

I already created the member property with the japanese description (the
default will be English description). When I switch the Regional Settings in
Windows Control Panel to "Japanese", I can see the japanese description
column, but I can't see the Kanji characters.

I know that the language switch is working because when I switch back to
English I see our English description.

Is MSAS support the japanese characters?
Hi there.

I have Kanji charaters displaying on my MSAS database, but it is kind of
tricky to get this to work on a machine running English windows.

Please check the following that your regional settings has Japanese checked
*and* set to default.

Regards,

Jonathan

Thanks for your replay, but I didn't work for me. I can't see the kanji
characters.

How are you loading your data into the MSAS? I am loading the MSAS cube from
a Teradata Data Mart using a Teradata ODBC driver to connect.

Thanks for any input.

I'm using the OLE DB provider for SQL Server.

Have you tried querying the database from a client running Japanese Windows?
