But then it isn't possible to differentiate developers and entreprise
edition from eachother ?

They are both un-limited but have very different licensing restrcitions...?

From the AS-side; no, you can't.
With the RDBMS you have more options available, i.e. you can parse the full
@@version string; also the Edition itself (e.g. Developer, Enterprise) is a
separate property.
