Your user name must be added as member of the Olap Administrators group in
the server where AS resides.

Greetings,

Michael

???

You use the sa account to get to SQL Serevr (relational engine).

Analysis Services just need you to be an authenticated user listed in Olap
Administrators group.

1) What is the error you are encountering when you try to
connect via Excel.

2) Does the Analysis Services machine have SP3 for
Analysis Services installed.

3) Does your client machine have PTSFull.exe installed.
(PTSFull.exe comes along with the executables of SP3 for
Analysis Services.)

Cheers,
Sanka

If you have MS Office XP on that machine you should do bring up Add/Remove
Programs on Office and try and do an Office repair. Office brings in
different dlls (for Office Web Component support) and those can overwrite
Analysis Services dlls.

Thx for ur reply
Besides office repair, is there any issue related to analysis server login in client PC
some issue point out that "Window login is part of the olap_administrator group"
Is there any detail steps/references can help me to tracing the correct user setting?

Being part of the local OLAP Administrators group on the Analysis server is
only required if you are going to administer the machine, for example the
user needs to run Analysis Manager, or if your application uses DSO. It is
NOT a requirement to query the cube.
