Check out XML for Analysis 1.1 which you can download from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
This allows you to get data from an AS cube over http or https with a
SOAP-wrapped XML message.

Hello all,
I need to connect to Analysis Services through a Java program, possibly
even an API. I was wondering how this can be done. The user needs to be able
to access data from a cube that has already been built in Analysis Services.
Thanks for any help!

In order to make sure that the XML/A environment is set up correctly, have
you been able to run the Sample Application successfully? If this does not
work, chances are that you are missing a piece of the install (IIS, MSXML
4.0 SP2, etc.).

Once the sample app works, then we can drill into the specifics of your
Discover call problems.

Thanks for replying Mark Job, but I have another problem now.....

I have a SOAP-wrapped XML message that sends the XML Discover call to
request a list of cubes from a local catalog, but all I get in return is the
code I wrote. I am trying to run it through Internet Explorer. Should I be
loading the program some other way? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for
any help!

There is a newsgroup dedicated to XMLA which has many of the dev team
members actively participating I would suggest that you repost your question
at: microsoft.public.data.xmlanalysis

Hope that helps.
