You may be able to edit the xml script directly, after making a copy
for safety. It'll be something like this:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\OLAP\Data\Analysis
Services Project1.0.db\KF625W.251.cub\MdxScript.405.scr.xml

I just had this problem where I put a start comment "/*" without an end
comment "*/". I'm having it again but I can't even get it working with
just "CALCULATE".

Anyone know how to recover from this state?

I found the solution for this state: not only is the MDX script in its
own XML file, it is in the XML code for the cube. Right-click on the
cube in BIDS, select View Code, you'll see the code for the entire
cube. You can edit the MDX script there. After processing, it will
overwrite the independent script file.
