I'm running AS on XP home right now, how have you tried and failed? Are you getting errors? Ray Higdon MCSE, MCDBA, CCNA *** Sent via Developersdex http://www.developersdex.com *** Don't just participate in USENET...get rewarded for it! |

Go into services and make sure the MSOLAP service is running under a proper account (usually local admin for XP home), then make sure the service is started before you connect to AS. I've noticed I get a weird error when I try to connect to AS if the service is not running (non-intuitive) HTH Ray Higdon MCSE, MCDBA, CCNA *** Sent via Developersdex http://www.developersdex.com *** Don't just participate in USENET...get rewarded for it! |

I just wanted you to make sure you had permissions to browse the cube. You can see this by right-clicking database roles and choosing manage roles. Ray Higdon MCSE, MCDBA, CCNA *** Sent via Developersdex http://www.developersdex.com *** Don't just participate in USENET...get rewarded for it! |

No, I actually installed A.S. AFTER installing OfficeXP;however, that appears to cause problems too (!) (see KB article Q292295), but supposedly only when accessing cubes from Excel. I'm wondering if the problem is that I left MSDE 1.0 on the machine, so it is designated as the "local" SQL server, instead of the SQL2000 server, which I made a named instance. Or maybe I just need to update A.S. to SP3... TFTH, Scott *** Sent via Developersdex http://www.developersdex.com *** Don't just participate in USENET...get rewarded for it! |
