If you are trying to connect to Analysis Server 2000 by using HTTP Connection... Then you will need Enterprise Edition of Analysis Services..

It may not be mandatory for you to use HTTP connection if you can connect to the Analysis Server(via TCP) using either the IP Address or Machine Name from Office XP
