When you for example take a working AS manager and unregister this dll, like: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Analysis Services\Bin>regsvr32 -u msmdsgn80.dll You will see that the register option is gone, you can register it again by: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Analysis Services\Bin>regsvr32 msmdsgn80.dll If this still fails check if you got version 8.00760 (sp3) of this dll, maybe was the file overwritten by something.
