Hi Heather,

This is probably because msmdsgn80.dll (AS manager add-in) is not
registered.

When you for example take a working AS manager and unregister this dll,
like:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Analysis Services\Bin>regsvr32 -u msmdsgn80.dll

You will see that the register option is gone, you can register it again by:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Analysis Services\Bin>regsvr32 msmdsgn80.dll

If this still fails check if you got version 8.00760 (sp3) of this dll,
maybe was the file overwritten by something. Unregister it and register it
again with above steps.

Thank you for the tips!

I tried this but always get DllRegisterServer in
msmdsgn80.dll error -- it could unregister fine but not
register.

I did validate it's the same .dll on machines that are
working (all w/sp3). Still no luck.
