Default question with local cube - 07-02-2003 , 10:15 AM

Hi,

I am trying to build local cube and I have a question.

My tables are updated very often and I would like to keep a copy of a
cube at a very particular state (with the data of the cube)

My question is:

when i build the local cube, especially when i write the SELECT clause
does it use the cube's data or the data in the tables?

It is very important for me to know that because in the period of time
between the process of the cube and the building of the local cube new
data may have been added

Thanks a lot

Lydie

Hello Lydie,
The answer to your question really depends on what you are puting in the
select and on SOURSE_DSN property that you are specifiing. If Source_DSN
points to the Olap Server, then it's a cube otherwise an underliing data.

Hope this helps,
Irina
