Default Queries from client application cause unexepected fatal error in OLAP service - 02-13-2006 , 08:44 AM

We are using SQL Server 2000, SP3a, and Analysis Services at SP4.
On this particular server there are several different cubes of which
the user accesses 4 different virtual cubes via a client application
(ProClarity)
All of the dimensions are shared and are reprocessed each morning.
Two of the virtual cubes work perfectly - these are updated daily by
refreshing data.
However, the other two, whose regular cubes are fully processed each
morning have recently started to hang when being queried by the
application and the event viewer shows that the OLAP service is showing
a fatal error and restarting. This can be when running a query or
simply when selecting a dimension.
The client application provider insists it is nothing to do with the
application; could this be due to corruption in the OLAP database?; and
if so, what would be the best course of action?
