Default PTS Performance - 04-15-2005 , 04:07 AM

Hi All.
I have a pretty simple cube with 2 measures (quantities and amounts) for
which I'm showing totals using 8 different dimensions.
When I add calculated members for YearToData values the performance in
PivotTableServices is extremely poor.
In my pivot table I have 5 dimensions in the page section and 3 in the rows.
Changing the value of one of the page dimensions takes over 3 minutes to
update with a message "Runing OLAP query...".
Is there anything I can do to improve performance???

Thanks a million in advance.

Are you picking differnt members from the dimensions to be displayed in the
row axis? If so you may want to add Cache Policy = 7 to the connection
string to see if that aids in the performance.

Otherwise it could be the calculated member that is not optimized. Can you
share it?
How many members are in the dimensions how many levels?
