Default PTS -> Firewall -> Web Server -> Firewall -> Web Server/Analysis Server set up - 04-01-2004 , 04:35 PM

I'm looking to configure IIS with the HTTP Analaysis Server support
where PTS clients send their requests to an IIS server in a DMZ that
forwards the request on to a secondary IIS Server/Analysis Server
inside the firewall VIA HTTP only NOT via Named pipe transport and
NetBIOS.

Something like this:

PTS -> Firewall -> Web Server -> Firewall -> Web Server/Analysis
Server

Is this possible yet? If so, where can I find instructions on how to
do that?

The diagram (Figure 2, column 3) in the following article is this
situation I am looking at, however the article does not describe how
to do it...

Unfortunately that diagram is in error. I apologize if it misled you. I have
it on my to-do list to get the document republished -- I just haven't had a
chance to do it.

You cannot configure the data pump in the configuration that you requested.
The connection between IIS where the data pump is running and the Analysis
server *MUST* be a named pipe and use NetBIOS for transferring credentials.

Sorry.

One idea I had was:

Do not put the datapump on the webserver inside the DMZ. Put the
datapump that's inside your production domain.

authenticate from within the DMZ - but behind the scenes...
use a mapping database...
capture the userid, and resend it to the datapump....

If this makes sense...

We attempted it. And we were successful. Although - it was some custom
mapping work.

Thanks
