I think this topic was covered last week, but I will give my thoughts again. In my experience, while the client machines will still be able to connect to the newer SP servers, they will eventually run into problems. This could range from just not getting good performance, to getting incorrect data. In the client company I used to work for (note USED TO) the first thing our support group would ask people when they called in was if the SP's of the client and server were the same. If it wasn't, then that was the first thing we would get updated to troubleshoot the problem. So, in my opinion, I would always keep my client machines at the same SP level as my server. You just alleviate a lot of headaches and I think will keep you and your users happier. HTH V |
