Default Process Dimensions - Rebuild the dimension structure - 09-14-2005 , 03:40 PM

Hi,

I have about 10 dimensions in my model. When i want to process all my
dimensions, each dimension by default is going to be Incrementally updated.
How do i change this to process all my dimensions with "Rebuild the Dimension
Structure".

One way, i could achieve this is by making the "changing" property of the
dimension to "True".

But, it looks like, it will not allow me to mark the "Aggrgation usage"
property of this dimension to be "Custom" for some reason. I need it to be
custom because i want to involve my second level in aggregation and not the
3rd and 4th levels in this dimenison.

Please let me know.

Thanks,

Prasad.

Marking the dimension as "changing" will not allow you to set the
aggregation mode to Custom by definition. Changing dimensions only store
aggregations at the top and bottom levels of the hierarchy.

If you use a DTS task to process your dimensions you will get the choice
of whether to do a full or incremental process.
