Default Problems when building cube with Multiple Dimensions. (Urgent) - 11-23-2006 , 11:14 AM

Hi Guys,

Facing a strange problem when building the cube with BI Studio --
Visual Studio 2005 Professional edition.

We have a cube with 3 dimensions and a fact table.

I am building the cube gradually by adding dimensions one by one.

I am using all the defaults, like the 'Measure Group' created on the
name of Fact Table, 'Regular' Relationship type, and granularity is on
the Key column of the Dimension table.

All the dimensions on their own in the cube (i.e. only one dimension at
a time in the cube's Dimesion Usage) work fine and I get the measure
values fine.

When I add 'Dimension1' to the cube it gets processed fine and i get
the measure values from the facts.

When I add 'Dimension2' to the cube it gets processed fine and i get
the measure values from the facts for both Dimension1 and Dimension2.

When I add 'Dimension3' to the cube it gets processed fine and but i
only get the measure values for Dimension3. The measure values for
Dimension1 and Dimension2 are missing at this point.

At this point if I remove 'Dimension3' from cube's Dimension usage and
process it again, it works fine and i get the measure values from the
facts for both Dimension1 and Dimension2.

Sounds silly. But I cannot figure out why is it missing the values for
other 2 dimensions when i add the Dimension3.

Wondering if anyone has come across this problem. Any help is really
appreciated.

Kind Regards
Raj Chidipudi
