Default Problems with BI Portal - 06-09-2004 , 12:44 PM

Hello everybody,
I am installing and testing BI Portal, I have App and DB
on the same Server, I can connect from my browser to
http://myserver/bip and can see the Foodmart sample
(folders, categories and views).
I can create a new folder, a new category, I create a view
but I cannot save it!!. Do you know why I have this
problem?

(I am using Windows Authentication mode).

Sharon.

I've had the same problem.

If I remember: Use the examples - you can modify them and use "save as". Or
you can modify the database entries
(in the BIP database). Look at BIP_Category and BIP_UserData.
The problems seems to be related with the two different versions of BIP
(regular and stand alone).

A few days after my post I found a solution.
Activating "Use DataAnalyzer Object" in System Preferences
I can save the views. We haven't Data Analyzer but
activating that option BIP works saving views.
I look at BIP_Category and BIP_UserData tables but they
don't give me something different.
Thank you very much for your response.

Hi,

Maybe you can also test ReportPortal and compare this with BI Portal.

For more info, online demo, free 60-day trial and online ordering: www.gmsbv.nl

Marco
