Default Problem Remotely Connecting To Analysis Manager - 06-18-2004 , 11:21 AM

Hello

I have a member of staff that works remotely who requires
access to our main SQL Server [Enterprise Manager,
Analysis Manager].

The VPN Client being used is SoftRemote, connecting to
Enterprise Manager [TCP 1433] works eveytime, however,
when trying to connect to Analysis Manager [TCP 2725] I
get the following error message:

Path not found......

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi,

The current architecture requires the local OLAP administrators have FULL
CONTROL and access to a hidden share in the AS server: OLAPREPOSITORY$.

You need to open more ports on the firewall, such as the Netbios ports of
135 through 139. For security reasons, it could be that this is not vital
solution to the users but it is a
requirement if we want to operate OLAP admin work through a firewall.

HTH,
Bas

You could also consider using the HTTP connection, which would only require port 80.
