Default Problem with MapPoint2004 and Analysis Services - 06-14-2004 , 11:17 AM

I'm trying to interface MapPoint2004 with Analysis Services. I have the MapPoint OLAP Wizzard 2002 Add-In. I want to be able to drill-though from a geographic dimension of state, city, zip. I don't know if I can do that, but I'm trying! Now, I can define the geographic dimension using zip, but when I try to use either city or state I get the following error: Object variable or with block variable not set. Has anyone experienced similar problems and/or found a resolution?

I am trying to do something similar to what you are doing. I'm trying
to display a geographic dimension from a cube in Analysis Services. I
have set the dimension to be "geographic", but for some reason, the
OLAP Wizard doesn't recognize it. As soon as I select a measure and
try to go on, I get a message "The following error occurred: 0:"
which doesn't really tell you squat. I can go past that to the the
"Select Geographic Dimension" screen, but my geographic dimension
doesn't show up and I get another similar message when I try to go on.
My other dimensions show up and even the values for filtering, just
not my "geographic" dimension. Have you found anyone who really knows
this product who could help or do you know enough to help?

No, and no. I did just enough to get a proof of concept working, but I haven't gotten back to it since. I don't know if this helps, but I finally had to give in and let it do everything by zip code, rather than using my own geographic dimension.
