Default Problem creating new DB's in AS Manager - 05-06-2004 , 11:21 AM

I have just finnished and SA2K with SP2 install and when create a new DB in AS Manager and then create a new connection within the DB I get the following error

"Cannot Update. Database or Object is read only

When then go back into AS Maanger the new Db is no longer there, althoughthe data source file & directory are still present as is the metadata file.

I can't see any obvious security/right etc issue so I'm los

Cheers

Rob

Hi Rob,

Make sure OLAP administrator has full control on the Microsoft Analysis
server\bin\ directory and that you are a member of that group. It looks
like you don't have write rights on the repository that seems to be still
in access (msmdrep.mdb).

Better would be to upgrude the repository to SQL server.

HTH,
Bas
