I'm trying to build a cube to analyse price changes
I've got about 100 000 products in about 60 shops, time range is about 2
years
And I've got pricelist change facts, each fact indicating an item's price in
a specific shop starting from a specified date.
I need to display daily price for an item, and I need to display average
price (arithmetic-mean or weighted-mean) for a group of items and/or shops
and/or days.
When I create such calculated member straightforwardly in MS AS, even for
arithmetic-mean price the response time is huge even for simple reports

(Note, that it is not the same as sales income divided by sales quantity
because: 1. sales may be discounted, and I need to analyse full price; 2. I
need to analyse price changes for items that had no sales in a specified
period.)

So my question is : are there any methods for solving such tasks? any
workarounds or compromise solutions? or it is not a task for OLAP server at
all?
