Default Please help - recovering a Analysis Server database after a hard disk crash - 01-13-2005 , 04:54 AM

The Server running our Analysis Services had the local hard disk
crash. I do not have any backups of this development server.
Thankfully the Analysis Server databases were on a disk I have managed
to recover the entire folder:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Analysis Services

I have the Bin and Data directories in tact and Analysis Server was
not running at time of crash.

Will it work if I restore the msmdqlog.mdb and msmdrep.mdb from the
above directory into a new install of Analysis Server and then restore
the data directory of the above directory to the new install and
startup Analysis Server.

Please confirm whether this will work.

Also, please clarify what is the best way to backup the analysis
Server databases automatically say using DTS are something like it and
where can I find scripts to do this backup.

Thanks
Karen
