hi
I have a small doubt.

analysis server installation is on d: drive.
(This includes bin folder, data folder and Temporary File Folder).

windows 2000 advanced server is installed in c: drive

Please tell me when a cube process which drive analysis manager will look
for virtual memory. is it c: drive or d: drive.

Thanks in advance for any help

regards
Sajith

virtual memory is controlled by the OS and by default the paging file
will be on the C: drive. But you can change where the paging file is
located by going into the system applet in the control panel.

Unless you are running out of space on c: you are better off leaving the
paging file there. That way AS will use d: and the paging file will use
d: and you will get a better IO throughput. In an ideal world you would
have at least 4 physical drives so that you could split up OS, Paging
file, temp files and data files.

thanks very much for the response. i was running out of space on c:
drive....we have five drives... as per your suggestion i have changed page
file location to e drive...which have more free space and meant for paging
file...all i was worried was will analysis manager will change the location
from c drive to e drive.. Now processing is far better than earlier... thanks
again for the response....
