 Pivot table total -

To make the story short, I have a cube in SQL 2000 that sales is measure
and date is dimension. The date dimension is a standard time dimension
which include levels of year, month, and date, I use Excel pivot table
(Excel 2000) to present this cube. It proves easy to get sales data for
a certain month or a certain year. But when a user selects a few dates
from the dimension, the pivot table still shows the total amount for the
current month and year. The user is only interested in the total in the
selected dates. How can I make this total to show.
Please help!
