Default Pivot Table error retreiving data from Cube - 10-21-2004 , 08:05 AM

We have a dimension in a cube with 7 levels and levels are visible.

In both Analysis Manager and MS Office Excel Add-in for SQL Server Analysis
Services, were are able to see the last level. However, using Pivot Tables we
are not and in the measures the Pivot Table will return N/A.

I have had the same problem, and just discovered that there is a limit
to the size of a row. The long rows end up with #N/A is measure, the
shorter ones do not.

Try shorter text fields.

Actually, I had another look at this, and found that in my case I had
both the member key and the member name for the dimension level set to
my very long text field.

When I set the member key to a short key instead I lost the problem.

So either the problem is with keys and not values, or the total length
includes the key *and* the value, and making the key short was enough
to solve my problem.

In any case, that's enough for me, as my problem is solved.

Good luck.
