Does anyone know if you can set up Analysis Services on your Personal Server
(2000)?

The developer edition of Analysis Services 2000 will install on Windows
2000 professional or Windows XP if this is what you mean.

Sorry, I should have asked it this way. If I want to be completely
self-contained, i.e. everything I need just on my workstation, what's the
best way to implement Analysis Services 2000??

I think my previous answer still applies. You install the developer
edition, You can install just the AS2K engine on its own and build cubes
off any OLEDB datasource (even Access or text files) or you can also
install an instance of SQL Server. I am running both AS2K and SQL2K on
my WinXP laptop without any problems.
