Default Permissions required for Analyis Manager - 07-21-2005 , 03:52 PM

Hello, I need to give a person the ability to manage cubes on my SQL Server.
I've installed Analysis Manager on her PC and added her to the OLAP
Administrators group on the server, but unless I put her in the local
Administrators group on the server, she is unable to connect. Is there any
way to get around adding her to the Administrators group of the server?

insure that the $msolaprepository hidden shared folder is authorized to the
olap administrator group
and also access to this registry entry :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mi*crosoft\OLAP Server

(all on the server side)

And look at the ACLs which have been placed on the default installation site
for both the executables and the data folder.
Both typically sit under: C:\Program Files\... which might have lots of
restrictive ACLs on it.
