Permission problem using msmdarch command -

I have recently migrating our analysis server onto a windows 2003
machine (MSAS 2000 sp4 connecting to sql server 2000 sp4 repository)
which also happens to be a dc. Everything works fine apart from
archiving from a remote machine using the msmdarch command. Archiving
remotely using Analysis manager works fine.
If you run the command using a domain admin account it works fine. But
if you use a windows account such as my domain user account which has
sa privledges on sql server and MSAS repository and full control on the
remote OLAP data folder and temp folder which i can access from my
machine and create and edit items, then the cab files does not get
created and msmdarch runs for about 3 seconds before closing.
I have exhausted all possible explanations my account has all the
normal permissions such as member of OLAP Admins and access to
repository and relevant folders but it only works when running under a
domain admin account. My only conclusion is that its something to do
with Windows 2003 as everything else is identical to our old MSAS
server.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
