We have AS+ sp3a. About 50 users access our olap databases every day using excel pivot tables, and repoting services. They make about 3000 queries.

I noticed, that when I make some changes in my olap database, ie incremental update of my changing dimension articles (about 250 members), all processors takes all 100 % for about several minutes after processing has finished. The same behaviuor I noticed when I process cubes not using lazy aggregates. At that time databases respond slowly.

I see, that perfomance counter Latch waits/sec grows and show from 1 to 10. After some time latch waits/sec reduce and shows only 0-1 and processors take only few percent.

How can I reduce latches ? and maybe can I monitor additional information combining with other counters? Are there some dso scripts to undrestand with activities AS is performing?
