Default 'password protect' the OLAP cube (in Analysis services) - 11-08-2004 , 04:06 AM

develop OLAP cubes (and SQL databases). I'd like to be able to 'password
protect' the OLAP cube (in Analysis services).
This would stop the system administrator from being able to modify the OLAP
cube.
I'm able to password protext DTS packages (as COM files), and also able to
'encrypt' stored procedures (in SQL server).
I may have some flexability when working with OLAP files - but I cannot see
a simpl e 'password' option in MS Analysis services (perhaps 2005 ?)

Unfortunately there is no way to do this with the current product..
With SQL Server 2000, the OLAP Administrator has complete access to all
cubes.
With SQL Server 2005, there is a role-based, fine-grain permissions model
not unlike the RDBMS (where you can give/take away administrative access at
the database level).
