Default parent-child dimensions - 08-04-2004 , 05:03 AM

Hi all

I've got this not so obvious requirement.
Here is the background..

I've got a Org Structures table that has data of the
client ORG structure and HR org structure. I need to
create a single parent child dimension which is a join of
2 parent-child dimensions using a intermediate org
dependency table that shows which customer is tied to
which business centre in the HR org structure.

HR structure
-----division
---------unit
-----------cost centre
-------------Business centre

Customer Structure
-----classification
----------region
-----------country
-------------client
---------------customer

here the business centre is linked to customers using the
org dependency table. this is a many-to-many relation.

How to build a single parent child dimension using the
above scenario? Any thoughts will be highly appreciated..

Can i use hierarchies for defining the dimension? if yes,
can anyone help me on how to build one?
is it possible to create dimensions something similar to
virtual cubes? like create 2 parent-child dimensions and
bring them together in another dimension using snow-flake
dimension wizard?

i'm fixed..please help me out
