Default Parent-Child 64000 limitation - 01-23-2006 , 03:07 PM

I have a parent-child dimension which has hit the 64000 member
limitation. If I add an indexing level that is named the first letter of
the child member name to distribute the 64000 members, is there a way to
hide this level only and not its children levels when browsing the
dimension hirarchy? So, if I end up with the following member hierarchy:
Category1
A
Product 1
Product 2
B
Product 3
Product 4
I want to see the following when browsing the dimension members (the way
I see it currently before adding the indexing levels A and B:
Category1
Product 1
Product 2
Product 3
Product 4

thx,
kr

How can I hide a level in a parent-child type dimension? This dimension
does not offer Visibility flag or Auto Grouping property. I can not
setup a rule based custom dimension and hide a level because all lower
levels will be denied too. Does anyone know of a trick to implement the
grouping in this type of a dimension?

thanks,
kr

Try to swap back to regular dimension.
Parent-Child is not good for the it.
