Default OWC IDE Frontpage, etc - 11-29-2004 , 12:44 PM

team;

I do a lot of dev with OWC, and I would like to make sure i use the best
tool.

I haven't had much luck with the WebMatrix; and dreamweaver won't really let
me set the properties of the ActiveX control at design time.

i have previously used Frontpage2003 with OWC 11; and it worked like a
charm.

i would like to use Frontpage 2000 against OWC 2002.

Does anyone know which versions of frontpage work with which versions of
OWC?

Thanks

Aaron

You might try posting this question as well to
microsoft.public.office.developer.web.components. This thread suggests that
you can use OWC XP from Frontpage 2000:

You can't integrate them directly into the menus (at
least, I don't know of a way to) but you can use the
OfficeXP Web Components within Front Page 2000.

Just go to Insert / Advanced / ActiveX Control and
assuming you have OWC10.DLL on your machine and
registered, the various OWC10 components should show up
in the list and can be inserted like any other control

Hi!

I wonder if it is possible to use the version 10.0 of the Office Web
Components with FrontPage 2000 in place of the version 9.0 provided with
FP2000.

Of course, all the workstations where OWC 10.0 would be deployed will be
licensed with FrontPage 2002/XP or with Office XP.

Thanks

Thank you, I am at a company where we have FP2000 licenses-- (but nothing
else; and Frontpage trials aren't anywhere anymore) so I wll probably give
it a shot and see if it works

However - every owc version has their own dll which means that you on one
machine can run owc9, 10 and 11....

On 2000 you will have 9 available
on xp you will have 9 and 10 available - don't know if you can install 11 -
propably not...
on 2003 you will have 10 and 11 available but you can install 9
