Default Ordering Columns in Drillthrough - 02-04-2004 , 02:10 AM

Hi,

I have a regular cube enabled for drillthrough. I have
about 5 or 6 fields that I return when a user drills-
through but want to know if there is a way that I can
change the ordering of the fields returned. For example,
when a user drills-through they see order number, various
other information pertaining to an order, and the order
date is the last field returned. I want the ordering to be
order number, date, and the rest of the information but it
appears that the order in which the dimensions were
added/created determines their ordering in a drill-through
query. It would seem intuitive that AS would allow a
designer to specify the ordering but I can't find
reference to this.

Thanks in advance for any help regarding this..

Regards
Sajith S,

Hi

There is no way you can set this ordering in Analysis
manager. But i have a workaround, I have a XML file having
the cube name and followed by the list of fields for
drillthru with the ordering. I use this XML file to build
my own recordset from the recordset created when you do
drillthru.

If you need the code, post a reply ... i shall send it to
u ...
