Default Oracle connection with MSAS2000 / SSAS2005 - 01-10-2006 , 10:33 AM

Hi,

I used Oracle client (>8) with MSAS2000 to have a connection with
Oracle DWH to process cubes in MSAS2000. (Microsoft ODBC for Oracle
driver is working OLE DB not).

Now you have Oracle ODBC driver, Oracle OLE DB driver, Oracle Client
and Oracle Instant Client.

What is minimum required to process an OLAP cube in MSAS2000 and
SSAS2005 ?

Any experience are welcome.

Not sure what the minimum is.

The Oracle supplied OLEDB driver works with both 2000 and 2005. (latest
version 9 from the website anyway).
You'll need an Oracle client on anywhere that's accessing the database.
So if you're processing a cube from the server you'll need the Oracle client
and the OLE DB driver on the Analysis Services box.
In 2000 if you're processing from a client machine I suspect you'll need
Oracle there as well
