Default Opening AS2005 cube in Proclarity 6.1 takes nearly two minutes - 06-28-2006 , 06:03 PM

Has anyone else experienced this?

The cube itself doesnt have much data yet, however has some very large
dimensions (in excess of a million members). Opening it takes about two
minutes, however once it's open it's quite snappy.

Any solution to get it to open faster?

Hi Jesse,

please, could you tell me what type of the connection do you use?
Did you monitor the communication between Proclarity and AS2005 with the SQL
Server Profiler?
It could show meny interesting things.

Thanks,

Ah good idea.

I'm so used to the AS2000 world I keep forgetting about the ability to run a
trace. So nice!

Turns out it looks like it has to return some very large dimensions (excess
of three million members).

Any idea how I can restrict this on the dimensional end to only return the
first 1000 or so?

Hi,

it depends on behavior of PClarity. It is complex to answer without
knowledge of how your's cube design.
