Hi,

We recently upgraded the server that had our OLAP installation from Win2000
Member Server to Win2003 and promoted it to a domain controller. We now
have a security issue where users are not able to connect to the cubes in
Analysis Services.

The Error message that comes up is:

Open Connection Failed
Unable to open connection
Cannot load database; version may not be valid
Connection to server is lost

This can be resolved by adding the users to the domain "Administrators"
group. Obviously not the preferred solution. If anyone has ideas I'd be
glad to hear them. If you require additional information please let me
know.

Hi,
as far as I know Analysis Services cannot run on a domain controller, see
BOL for this.
