Default OLAP through HTTP crash IIS? - 04-14-2005 , 03:44 PM

Hi everybody,

We use Pivot table (OWC10) in our application to connect to the Analysis
server through HTTPS with basic authentication. But either IIS crash
happened or OLAP service had to be restarted after several simple operations
in Pivottable, like changing the selection. There is one time that all
conents in IIS were gone, then I had to restart the server! There is no error
showed in event log view.
Our sever is Windows server 20003 with IIS6.0 and SQL server 2000 enterprise.

Anybody has the some issue or knows what is wrong?

Thanks,

Yan

Hi Yan,
I would check the version of the MSOLAP80.dll to see if you have the latest
patched version. 760 is SP3. Also check the MSMDSRV.EXE in the bin folder of
AS, this should also be 760.
There were some updates to the MSMDPUMP.DLL which is used for HTTP, but
nothing that should solve a crash.

Does the crash occur if you use straight TCP connection?

Strange that nothing would be recorded in the Application event log. AS
would still report that it stopped and restarted automaticly.
