Default OLAP Guide/Tutorials - 10-05-2004 , 07:29 AM

Hi!

I've been using OLTP databases a while now, and I'm using both MySQL and
MSSQL frequently. However, I still lack sufficient knowledge about OLAP to
be of any use, so I would be happy if some of you could recommend good
sites, tutorials and other resources I can read. I would prefer concise,
online resources, as I'm somewhat inclined to practical learning rather than
reading a 800-page book...

Thanks!

Sincerely,
Nils Magnus Englund

Nils,

try out:
http://www.winnetmag.com/SQLServer/
and search for anlysis services or mdx. They have lots of good articles.

You can also try:
http://www.databasejournal.com/
They have a hands-on series of articles.

Have fun.

Regards,
Mario

To be honest the best resource I have found down the years, and the one I
keep going back to, is this newsgroup.

Any problems ask away - i think we're a pretty friendly bunch!

Excellent, thanks Mario, Dave and Jamie!

I'll get a good start from the books and sites you referred to, and come
here crying for help when I get stuck

Sincerely,
Nils Magnus Englund
