I recently created my first OLAP cube on our SQL Server at work. I currently am able to view the cube through a pivot table in excel and I have set up a website using the office web controls to view the cube. Everything works great if you have Office 2003 on your computer, but most of the computers at work run Office 97/2000. Excel 97 does not have the functionality to connect to the OLAP cube. Most of the computers with Office 2000 do not have the most up to date MDAC. Getting our IT guys to install these updates is a pain (most users do not have admin rights). The website is pretty much the same thing, software is needed to view it. I am looking for a way to access this OLAP cube from our website, without the need for any software on the user's side of things. I am open for anything, ActiveX, ASP, etc. Is there a walkthough for this sort of thing somewhere? Thank you. |
