Default OLAP Connectivity - Database does not exist! - 11-05-2004 , 01:13 AM

Hi,

This problem really burden me for quite sometimes and i cannot get any
solution from the net. Hope there are someone out there faced this some
problem and have the solution.

I have 2 PDC server and 1 workstation. 1 PDC Windows 2003 with SQL Server
2000 and SQL Analysis Service which contains few OLAP databases. 1 PDC
Windows 2000 Advanced Server and act as authentication server for client PC.
The workstation joined to authentication server and member of Domain Users,
Enterprise Admins and OLAP Administrators. PDC Windows 2000 has a external
two-way non transitive trust with PDC Windows 2003. The same set of user also
exist in PDC Windows 2003. In Windows 2003 (Database & OLAP server) also has
a shared folder contain excel 2003 file with pivot table connected to the
OLAP database locally. The workstation will login to authentication server
and mapping the network drive to share folder in database & OLAP server.
Trust between PDC is working when workstation can view and open shared excel
file but when try to refresh the data in pivot table it come out an error
message 'Database 'Database_Name' does not exist'.

This problem happened when migrate old database server to new database
server. (new hardware). Old server also has a same spec: Windows 2003, SQL &
OLAP Server but only has low memory and processors speed. The Installion,
setting & architecture remain same.

I assume this problem has something to do with SQL Analysis Server
installation and setting with new server. Can somebody help? Thanks in
advance.
