Default OLAP ActiveX controls recommendations? - 09-21-2005 , 11:45 PM

I want to build a .Net windows app to display MS-OLAP data. Would like basic
slice/dice functionality, plus ability to implement custom actions on
dimension members and cells. Or at least be able to get selections in grid to
implement buttons to pass data from grid selections on to other functions.
Any suggestions?

I had a quick look at using Crystal OLAPGridObject, but lack of
documentation put me off. I also would welcome references to
examples/documentation on using the Crystal OLAPGridObject

Thanks,

LMcPhee

For MS Data Analyzer, can you tell me:
Looking at the summary docs for this it was not clear to me if:
1. Can I do drill-through and actions from this control?
2. Can I "stack" dimensions on an axis and can I do drill-down on
axis dims?

Are there plans to release a .Net version of this control?
Is there a new version planned to work with SQL 2005?

Thanks,
LMcPhee

you should use office web components; anything else is a waste of time

pivotlist control aka pivottable control

frontpage has awesome hooks for doing this in design view.. make sure
you use the correct version of frontpage for your office install
