Default Object Model for MDX queries? - 01-12-2006 , 01:59 PM

Somewhere in the depths of all the APIs is there an object model for building
and parsing MDX queries in code?

I'm probably looking for whatever Analysis Services uses to cache the MDX
query behind the scenes while you're browsing a cube. For example, I'm
looking to build up an MDX query in an object model, execute the MDX
statement, cache the object model, and then later use it to easily modify the
query and re-execute it.

Anyone know if something like this exists? I've looked for it myself, but
can't find it. I'm in the process of writing it myself.

There is an object model used by the management tools, but unfortunately it
is undocumented. I'm not aware of any other 3rd party libraries for
something like this...

Thanks,
Akshai

Hi, Akshai

Could you please tell a bit more it about? Is it not confident?
What for tool do you keep in view?

Thanks,
Vladimir Chtepa

As I said, it is not documented and therefore not available for general
use -- I believe it is used for Intellisense and syntax highlighting in the
management tools.

I'm not sure what you mean...
