I'm trying to connect to SQL Server 2005 Analysis Server, but I'm always getting this error: Unable to connect to the selected cube. Error message: Cannot connect to the server 'localhost'. The server is either not started or to busy. Any help in this issue will be highly appreciated. Thanks |

You are trying to connect to the analysis server on you local machine? You ofcourse checked that the analysis service is running? Yes, I checked in both the places, in SQL Computer Manager and Services, its running and started in both places. Does it has to do something with the Provider, I'm using "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for OLAP Services 8.0." and the Analysis Server is installed in Windows 2003 server. That will be the problem. If you are trying to connect to the 2005 AS you need to use 9.0 provider. The machine you are connecting from isn't the same as the machine you have the AS installed on? Normally then it should be installed automatically. If I'm not mistaking if you install the PTS of 2005 it also contains the 9.0 provider. PTS is a part of the AS. Regards, Nico "UR" wrote: From where do I get 9.0?
