Default No Catagory in BIP - 01-19-2004 , 02:09 AM

Hi,

I've installed BIP but no folder or cube can be displayed. From the SQL
profiler the last thing it executed was:
exec Bsp_GetUserDefaultPresentation @UserName = N'LOCAL\administrator'

Seems like it cannot retrieve anything from the BIP database. Anyone has
any suggestion?

Thx,
Adrian

If you are sure you have followed all the steps listed in BIP document, then probably your should try reinstall SQLXML.

Hope this helps,

Sunil.

Hi,

I've reinstalled SQLXML 3.0 and tested accessing the SQL server using SQLXML
virtual and it works fine. However, my BIP isn't.

Actually I've installed BIP on a couple of machines now, and they all work
fine. That is except this one, which is a customer environment. I'm sure
all the installation steps are identicial to the successful installations.

Any other thoughts?

Thx,
Adrian

Hi ,

From the SQL Profiler I can see the BIP that works has execute SQL accessing
the BIP DB under both ApplicationNames:
1. .Net SqlClient Data Provider
2. Microsoft (R) .NET Framework

The one that fails only assess the BIP DB under ".Net SqlClient Data
Provider". Does that means there's something wrong with my .NET Framework?

Thx,
Adrian

Found an old thread about BIP & SQLXML 3.0 SP2. I've followed the advice
and installed SQLXML 3.0 SP1 over SP2, and it's working fine now.
