Default Newbie License Q's - 08-25-2005 , 10:50 AM

I've been a DBA for awhile but know nothing about Analysis Services. I read
the install instructions in BOL and that doesn't seem too bad. But I've got
a basic q: where can I find the approx cost of Analysis services? (We
generally run 2000 Enterprise Edition.) Also: we want to put it on a
development server and play around with it? Will that cost us anything?
Thx.

the costs is the SQL Server cost !
if you want to setup a dedicated server, you'll pay SQL Server
if you want to setup AS on the same server has a current SQL Server
installation, then its free.

same thing for reporting services. if SQL Server is installed then its free,
else you have to pay SQL Server.
