I had tried retrieving the same amt of data from my old report using pivot table and using the new excel add-in free-form report. However, the speed for retrieving from pivot table is a few times faster than retrieving from the free-form report. I was connecting through a dial-up and the speed for retrieving from pivot table is ard 5min but the speed for the free-form report is 30min. This speed is definitely a problem for system implementing in a regional basis. Can anyone advice on this?
